A Bit Behind the Book
This book is part of a series on the Renaissance. Researching this book was truly fascinating. I love looking into history to see what people and places were like. The plague, the time it took to travel and build things...so different from today and yet so much of today depends on what happened yesterday. Many years ago when I finished university I travelled in Europe. I toured many cathedrals and churches in England, France, Italy, and Germany. The architecture and beauty of each one was awe inspiring. It's difficult to describe the feeling of seeing marble steps worn down by the passage of so many feet that have gone on before you.
