"Chicken Soup" Contributions
|
“On the Table” My true story appears on page 60 of Chicken Soup for the Mother of Preschooler's Soul. It's about how I became frustrated at not being able to have a nice, grown-up coffee table because it kept being used as a kids' play surface. But I eventually came to see that the kids' contributions to my coffee table — dirt, dings, dents and all — made it into a thing of true beauty.

| “The Green Colander” My true story appears on page 235 of Chicken Soup for the Sister's Soul 2. It's about how my sister and I used to have to pick asparagus after school in a green colander, and how we'd fight over who had to hold the smelly thing. We may also have had a discussion or two on who was or wasn't doing all the work. But then we figured out how to turn it into a game. Who knew an acre of asparagus could be so much fun!
